Like everyone else in this world, I carry different bags for various things.  For instance, when I go shopping or out and about, I usually grab for one of my many handbags.  When I go to the gym, I reach for my reliable yet,  maybe not always so fresh duffel, which houses all of my ‘personals’.  Going out of town?  My leather wheeled bag is always good to go and ready to roll.

Tried and true, isn’t that what we want in a laptop carrying case?  We want to know that it is going to keep our computers safe.

A broken laptop.  The thought just brings a tear to my eye…my bookmarks, my professional and personal documents and files.  Then, there’s the videos I have saved on my machine and images.  Ok. Sure.  I can back up all of that stuff, but I don’t as often as I should.

So now, you have to replace the darn thing, buy another laptop.  Umm, that could be a pinch…to say the least.  Then, it takes a good while to get all the software and add-ons and all the rest  of the necessities back on track.  What a nightmare!

I am oh so familiar with this!  I dropped  my laptop moving it around in the house.  I was at the top of the stairs, coming down.  Oops. I slipped and the freaky laptop just flew out of my hands.  I was so upset.  It was gone and there was nothing I could do about it.  What a tragedy, just thinking about it….

Not long after that, my hard drive crashed on my Desktop.  Things were just not right in my world.  Thank goodness the replacement was only $60!  I was lucky to get away cheap on that one.  But, still, to this day, my system is not the same.  You know, I build websites and my computers are such a huge part of my life…

I take really extra special care of them now.  I realized, everyday that I cannot get on-line, I die a little bit inside.

So, to err on the side of caution, I make sure I unplug everything when there is a storm coming, am extra careful in maintaining my screens, keep all the crumbs out of the keyboards and use a laptop carrying case.  All the time.
